COVID-19 Relief Campaign
The USBG National Charity Foundation is proud to report that the Bartender Emergency Assistance Program's COVID-19 Relief Campaign was able to provide meaningful financial assistance grants to 32,000 hospitality industry professionals during the height of the 2020 COVID-19 crisis. We want to sincerely thank both our industry donors and our 4,500 individual donors who made these grants possible. Through your charitable giving, we disbursed $9.6M to help Serve Those Who Serve Us.

The USBG National Charity Foundation was sparked into being when a United States Bartenders' Guild member dared to ask “how do I get out of this industry alive, with my health, a little money, and my sanity intact?” Shaken by this candid outlook on our industry, we committed the Foundation’s mission to advance the lifelong stability & wellbeing of service industry professionals through education & charitable activities.
We at the USBG National Charity Foundation strive to achieve our mission through three programmatic pillars: Social Responsibility (Health & Wellness: physical, financial, and mental), Community Service, and Philanthropy.
Our three programatic pillars define the Foundation: Social Responsibility, Community Service, & Philanthropy.

The BEAP grant was a life-saver. I was not able to work for a few months after a motorcycle accident, and had to rely on family members to help me with my basic care needs. I am grateful that there is an industry-specific fund that is designed to help bartenders, especially since our industry generally does not have insurance coverage as a standard practice. Thanks to my friend, who was also a previous recipient, I was able to benefit from the generosity of the BEAP and get back on my feet.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2016. My treatment required surgery and aggressive chemotherapy, and I struggled to work and take care of my children. Thank you so much, HDRF. You have no idea how much this is going to help my family. I am in tears over your generosity. I’m truly blessed to have you guys! Thank you, Thank you… From my family to yours!
I started to feel feverish and unwell. I thought I was coming down with a cold and didn’t think much of it until my fever spiked to 105°F, which led me to the ER. There, I was with Lyme Disease, Acute Meningitis, and West Nile Virus. After aggressive treatment, I am finally on the mend. I’ve given much time to USBG and the bartending community and it means a great deal not only that the BEAP exists, but that it is also available to all of us in the industry. Thank you so much for this generous grant! It will help me tremendously.
