USBG NATIONAL CHARITY FOUNDATION TO HOST VIRTUAL SALUTE TO COVID-19 RELIEF CAMPAIGN VOLUNTEERS AND DONORS

“Raising Glasses To You Badasses” will honor program’s more than 500 volunteers and 4700+ donors

HENDERSON, NV (JULY 14, 2020) - The USBG National Charity Foundation announces today that on Tuesday, July 21 at 6 p.m. Pacific/9 p.m. Eastern it will host “Raising Glasses To You Badasses,” a 90-minute virtual toast to, and in celebration of, the more than 500 volunteers who contributed more than 11,000 hours of service and the 4700+ donors who pledged more than $9 million to the Foundation’s Bartender Emergency Assistance Program COVID-19 Relief Campaign.

Said USBG Foundation volunteer board member Kim Haasarud, “Since the first day of our COVID-19 Relief Campaign, there has been no greater illustration of the generosity and spirit of service that exists in our industry than the hundreds of people who donated thousands of hours of their time to combing through nearly 300,000 initial applications. By stepping up their dedication enabled us to disburse more than $9 million in grants. The amount of pride and gratitude I feel for them is immeasurable.”

USBG National Charity Foundation Executive Director Aaron Gregory Smith said, “We’re incredibly grateful to our donors for committing their dollars to the Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Campaign. As bars continue to open back up only to close again, we realize how far we are from the finish line. We continue our work to help as many bartenders as we possibly can.”

What is the USBG National Charity Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Campaign?

Via the campaign, modest, yet meaningful emergency grants of $150-500 drawn from generous donations will be allocated to as many eligible applicants as possible so as to be as impactful as possible. It’s important to be clear that these emergency grants are intended to supplement federal relief programs that are designed to help with larger, sustained expenses.
